Dana Oshiro is a Partner at Heavybit where she’s built the venture firm’s brand, accelerator, and mentorship network from its inception. In addition to investing, she’s led over 60 startup launches and helped build some of the most significant software-driven movements of the decade including Jamstack and DevSecOps.
Previously, as a marketing leader and journalist, she developed strategy for Heroku and Salesforce, rebranded and sold a media network, and covered hundreds of startups in publications like The New York Times and VentureBeat. In addition to her work with founders, some of Oshiro’s proudest achievements include helping Code for America rewrite city services, championing environmental health and the nation’s first statewide Biomonitoring Bill, and supporting women’s health, antipoverty, and community arts orgs in the US and Canada.
Oshiro resides in SF and is a trained Ikebana floral arts instructor. She continues to source deals on behalf of Heavybit and remains interested in startup mentorship, civic tech, and community programming.
